Football Recap: Wyoming Valley West Spartans vs. Williamsport Millionaires
Wyoming Valley West unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 31-20 to the Williamsport Millionaires on Friday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 12 in a row.
Wyoming Valley West's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Preston Sninsky, who picked up 102 receiving yards and one TD. Sninsky really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 89 yards. John Richards also helped out as he racked up 146 receiving yards.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wyoming Valley West will host Scranton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Williamsport, they will be playing at home against Hazleton Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
