Jimmy Fouse and Victor Williams provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Timber Creek. The connection was good for 52 yards, the longest such play in 5A Region I District 7 this season.
Duncanville moved up to 40 from 105 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Panthers climbed the ranks as a result of topping Abilene 50-20.
Jeremiah Drake put up the best numbers through the air as Duncanville bested the Eagles. He finished with a total of 18 completions for 178 yards and 3 touchdowns. Drake's favorite target this week was Kevin Bell Jr., who caught 6 passes for 54 yards.
Zach Humphreys was the best wideout in the league this week as Midlothian beat the Falcons. Humphreys tallied 7 receptions for 64 yards. Williams helped Midlothian's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 63 yards.
Williams was the most successful running back in 5A Region I District 7 this week. He ran for 84 yards on 4 carries as the Panthers defeated Timber Creek. Teammate Tristian Oliphant added to the ground attack by rushing for 76 yards.
He was 18-22 with 0 interceptions.
Jeff Dicus' team's Drake and Devante Smith have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Drake has thrown for 617 yards this season, while Smith has 16 catches for 159 yards. Midlothian's Williams leads the league in rushing yards with 224.
Lee Wiginton's team took down Kevin Golden's team 54-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Humphreys threw for 3 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 76 yards during the win.
