Brenham made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Montgomery, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cubs were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Bears on Friday. The Cubs not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 4th.

Brenham's victory bumped their record up to 16-9-1. As for Montgomery, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 15-9-2 record.

Looking ahead, Brenham will head out to square off against Cypress Woods at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cubs 3.5, the Wildcats 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Montgomery, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Huntsville at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
