Basketball Recap: Michael Dubose Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Norfolk

There's no place like home for Omaha Northwest, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 63-54 victory over the Norfolk Panthers on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 54-47 back in January.

Omaha Northwest's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Michael Dubose, who went 7-for-9 on his way to 23 points. Those 23 points gave Dubose a new career-high. Akshay Setti was another key player, shooting 56% from the field to rack up 16 points.

When it comes to explaining why Norfolk lost, don't look at Drew Streich. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-15 en route to 18 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Plasencia, who made all 5 shots he took to post 14 points.

Omaha Northwest's record now sits at 5-17. As for Norfolk, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 16 of their last 17 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-20 record this season.

Omaha Northwest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 75-33 loss against Papillion-LaVista South on the 1st. Norfolk does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
