Downey was the 13-7 winner over Bellflower when they last played one another back in March of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings fell just short of the Buccaneers by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Eddie Causley and Braydon Bejines stepped up to the plate in a big way. Causley went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Bejines went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Downey's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Bellflower, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 8-13.

While Downey had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
