Softball Preview: Payne Tech Lions vs. Montclair Kimberley Academy Cougars
The Payne Tech Lions will take on the Montclair Kimberley Academy Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Payne Tech's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
Payne Tech barely beat Millburn the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Millers on Friday. Fans of the Lions have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Leilani Oyola spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Montclair Kimberley Academy's offense. They came up short against Mount St. Mary Academy on Friday, falling 6-0. The loss put an end to the Cougars' undefeated start to the season.
Having lost for the first time this season, Montclair Kimberley Academy fell to 2-1. As for Payne Tech, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
