Soccer Game Preview: Morton Ranch vs. Tompkins

Morton Ranch hasn't had much luck against Tompkins recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Mavericks will look to defend their home pitch against the Falcons at 7:15 p.m.

Morton Ranch fell victim to Paetow and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 6-0 to the Panthers. While losing is never fun, Morton Ranch can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 512th, while Paetow are ranked 154th).

Meanwhile, neither Tompkins nor Mayde Creek could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Brayden Lehner and Filipe Nunes scored both of the Falcons' goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

With that draw, Tompkins' record moves to 3-2-3. As for Morton Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5-3.

Morton Ranch might still be hurting after the 4-1 loss they got from Tompkins in their previous meeting back in February of 2025. Can the Mavericks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
