Baseball Recap: Badin Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Badin got themselves on the board against Elder on Monday, but Elder never followed suit. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Panthers. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

The result came thanks to Caleb Driessen's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Badin saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Vangen, who went 1-for-2 with two runs. Cade Cummins was another, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Badin pushed their record up to 21-4 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Elder, they moved to 11-9 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Badin will square off against Centerville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Elder, they will take on Lakota East at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
