Basketball Recap: Northwest Comes Up Short

On Thursday, the Northwest Mustangs were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 50-45 to the Linn Wildcats.

Tony Peters went supernova for Linn, going 8 for 11 on his way to 20 points and six blocks. Those 20 points gave Peters a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Craig Laughlin, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards.

Northwest has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Linn, the win snapped their losing streak at 12 games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-11 record.

Northwest has already played their next match (against La Monte), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Linn has already played their next game, a 68-26 loss against Fatima on the 17th.
