Fairfield had lost six games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 4-14-1  on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the York County Tech Spartans, sneaking past  8-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  3-2  on April 9th.
 Jayden Bell was a  major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  5.1 innings while giving up  four earned runs off   four  hits. Bell was even better at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with two  triples, two  RBI,  and one  run. Those  two  triples gave  him a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Vaughn Lewis and  Jacob Liller did most of the damage at the plate:  Lewis  got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with one  run and one  RBI, while  Liller  went 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  double. Fairfield is 2-1 when  Liller posts two or  more  runs, but 2-13-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of  Layton Wilhide, who  went 2-for-5 with one  stolen base and one  run.
 Fairfield was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as York County Tech only posted a  batting average of  .192.
As for York County Tech, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record  this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.
 On York County Tech's side,  Tyler Quickel made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  got on base  in two of his four plate appearances with three  stolen bases and one  run. Another player making a difference was  Cody Wagman, who  went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases, two  RBI,  and one  run.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairfield will venture away from home to  square off against Biglerville  at 4:15  p.m.  on Thursday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Canners have averaged an impressive 7.2  runs per game this season. As for York County Tech, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Bermudian Springs  at 4:15  p.m.  on Thursday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their  17th straight  victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
