Football Recap: Stratford Comes Up Short on the Road Against Summerville

Stratford had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 35-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Summerville Green Wave. The game was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Knights couldn't quite close it out.

Jachin Davis threw for 191 yards and one touchdown. Maliq McGowan was his top target, picking up 89 receiving yards and one score.

Jayven Williams went supernova For Summerville., rushing for 162 yards and one TD while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also picking up 65 receiving yards and one score. Williams showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 59 yards. Another player making a difference was Max Stafford, who threw for 237 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes.

Coming up, Stratford is taking a road trip to challenge Daniel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Summerville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Florence at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
