The Sierra Pacific Golden Bears will be taking part in a tournament against the Clovis Cougars at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Sierra Pacific is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Sunnyside on Tuesday as they made off with an 18-2 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Golden Bears needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Sierra Pacific got a great performance from Xander Stone as he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. What's more, Stone posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.
At the plate, Justin Simas was a standout: he scored three runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-5. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Davian Contreras, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Sierra Pacific always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .675. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Clovis never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Stockdale with a sharp 7-0 win.
Logan Georges tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single walk any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Drake Davis was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Deep Chohan, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Sierra Pacific has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Clovis, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-12.
Sierra Pacific's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's contest. The Golden Bears have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game.
