Baseball Recap: Jay Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Jay's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Harlandale Indians 7-6. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Indians back in March, they had to take a 7-5 loss.

Daniel Rodriguez made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one triple.

In other batting news, Max Menchaca was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Noah De Alba was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Jay kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Jay's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-12. As for Harlandale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season.

Jay wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-4 defeat against Winn on the 24th. As for Harlandale, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-2 loss against Southside on the 24th.
