Though this was definitely a build-up of two of the nation's greatest prep running backs, it also featured two possible state finalists in 4A Yulee (left) and 2A Glades Day.

It was billed as the greatest high school running back matchup ever. But it was so much more.

Yulee (Yulee, Fla.) High School's 42-6 victory over Glades Day (Belle Glade, Fla.) before an over-flow crowd and nationally-televised audience was a happening - considered one of the greatest prep football spectacles in Florida history. And considering the history of Florida prep football, that's saying something.

The showdown between the two backs - Derrick Henry, of Yulee, and Kelvin Taylor didn't remotely disappoint. The two combined for 586 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. MaxPreps photographer Gray Quetti was there to document the special night.{PAGEBREAK}
If Yulee's defense wasn't dishing out enough pain, its student body wanted to make sure everyone felt and heard the sting of their enthusiasm.

As remarkable as Derrick Henry was, Yulee coach Bobby Ramsay said his team's physical and swarming defense was the key to the 42-6 victory. "I know Derrick gets a lot of recognition, but our defense is a tough group of guys," he said. "They did an excellent job of containment."

With 363 yards and six touchdowns, Derrick Henry now has 865 yards and 12 scores in his last two games - a nice season for most. His 39th consecutive game of rushing for at least 100 yards tied a national record.

At 6-foot-3 and 245 pounds, some have questioned whether Derrick Henry is just too tall or big to play tailback in college. As usual, Henry had an emphatic answer on Friday with 363 yards and six touchdowns.

University of Florida coach Will Muschamp (right) was there not only to watch his future prized running back Kelvin Taylor, but to take a look at some other possible recruits as well. Unfortunately for Muschamp and the Gators, Yulee's Derrick Henry is taken. He committed to Alabama earlier in the day.

Kelvin Taylor looked fantastic, especially between the 20s, with 223 yards rushing. But Yulee limited him and Glades Day to just one touchdown.
