Softball Recap: Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 7-6 in the process. They came up short against the Elyria Catholic Panthers, falling 10-1. The matchup marked the Royals' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shaye Tepley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

As for Elyria Catholic, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 13-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.6 runs this season.

On Elyria Catholic's side, Kailey Tomasch spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, Nadia Pagan was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024. Jessica Conner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy has already played their next contest, a 7-4 defeat against Padua Franciscan on the 24th. As for Elyria Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-1 victory against Mathews on the 24th.
