Softball Recap: Parkview Comes Up Short

Parkview extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 16 on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-8. They lost 12-2 to the Deerfield Demons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Demons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 on April 7th.

Jemma Wilke was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Those stolen bases were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Makenna Phillips, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

As for Deerfield, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4. The result was nothing new for the Demons, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.

On Deerfield's side, Addi Haas spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Riley Fisher was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Haberkorn, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Parkview has already played their next contest (against Juda/Albany), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Deerfield, they have also already played their next matchup, an 11-0 victory against Palmyra-Eagle on the 24th.
