Basketball Game Preview: Pawhuska Huskies vs. Webster Warriors

The Pawhuska Huskies will square off against the Webster Warriors at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pawhuska will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Last Thursday, Pawhuska strolled past Newkirk with points to spare, taking the game 48-30. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Tigers are ranked 224th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pawhuska's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Hannah Reynolds, who went 8 of 17 en route to 20 points and eight steals, and Brooklyn Miles, who went 7 for 15 on her way to 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. Miles is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Emillie Curry, who posted six points along with five boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Webster can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 46-16 victory over Mercy School Institute. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Warriors had established a 26 point advantage.

Webster's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Pawhuska, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.
