Softball Game Preview: San Lorenzo Valley Cougars vs. Carmel Padres

The San Lorenzo Valley Cougars will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Carmel Padres at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carmel took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on San Lorenzo Valley, who comes in off a win.

San Lorenzo Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 19-4 margin over North Monterey County on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Meanwhile, Carmel suffered their biggest defeat since March 16, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Aptos, falling 15-5. The loss was the Padres' first of the season.

Carmel saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lily Beals, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another was Kristen Mastin, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, Carmel fell to 2-1. As for San Lorenzo Valley, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
