Football Recap: Vian Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home + How To Watch

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Vian had no problem doing just that on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Davis Wolves a 21-0 shutout. Those 21 points were actually the fewest the Wolverines have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

It was another big night for Masyn Wright, who rushed for 196 yards and one touchdown while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Vian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 255 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Davis only rushed for 68.

Vian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Wright and Michael Polecat. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: Wright posted at least 115 rushing yards in the sixth games prior.

Vian pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.4 points over those games. As for Davis, they moved to 10-3 with that defeat, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Vian will square off against Adair at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Davis does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
