Volleyball Recap: Crown Point Extends Winning Streak to Six

Crown Point came tearing into Thursday's matchup with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the La Porte Slicers 3-0. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Slicers, too.

Crown Point was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-14, 25-19.

Crown Point was led to victory by Bella Del Real and Hayden Klimowicz. Del Real had 28 digs and seven assists, while Klimowicz had 13 digs. Del Real is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last 11 games she's played dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why La Porte lost, don't look at Shayla Sorg. Despite the final result, she had 23 digs and two assists. Lexi Surowiec also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Crown Point's record now sits at 6-0. As for La Porte, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Crown Point will take on McCutcheon in a tournament on Saturday. As for La Porte, they will welcome Portage at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more sets each game than the last.
