Basketball Recap: Schaumburg Christian Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Schaumburg Christian extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Lucas Bustamante. The Schaumburg Christian Conquerors managed a 54-50 win over the Christian Life Eagles on Friday thanks in part to Bustamante, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Tanish Dundi, who posted eight points and five steals. He is becoming a predictor of Schaumburg Christian's success: when he posts at least three steals the team is 7-1 (and 5-6 when he doesn't).

Schaumburg Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Christian Life, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.

Schaumburg Christian will host South Beloit at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Christian Life, they will square off against Rockford FIRE HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th.
