Softball Recap: Bluffton Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bluffton can now relate to. They came up short against the Woodlan Warriors on Monday, falling 13-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-2 on May 1st.

Bluffton saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madyson Sonnigsen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

The defeat snapped Bluffton's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 13-14 record. As for Woodlan, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 23-5 record this season.

Bluffton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Woodlan, they will square off against Fort Wayne Bishop Luers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
