Basketball Recap: Harper Baker-Lands and Noah Smith Secure Win for Plainfield

The Plainfield Quakers were able to grind out a solid victory over the Noblesville Millers on Saturday, taking the game 60-53. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Quakers.

Leading Plainfield to victory were Noah Smith and Harper Baker-Lands. Smith shot 88% from the field to rack up 18 points and eight boards, while Baker-Lands went 8-for-12 en route to 19 points. The game was Baker-Lands' fourth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Chase Swafford, who posted five points.

Despite the loss, Noblesville still got an impressive performance from Justin Curry II, who went 12-for-18 on his way to 29 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Flanagan, who scored nine points.

Plainfield's record now sits at 2-0. As for Noblesville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Plainfield and Noblesville will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Quakers will take on rival Whiteland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Noblesville is set to face off against their familiar foe Fishers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
