Soccer Game Preview: Seaholm/Groves vs. Berkley

Seaholm/Groves is 0-3 against Berkley since May of 2024 but things could change on Tuesday. The Maples will welcome the Bears at 7:15 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Seaholm/Groves took a three-goal loss the last time they faced off against Royal Oak, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Maples never let the Ravens get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Thursday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Seaholm/Groves' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 249th, while Royal Oak are ranked 108th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Berkley). They put the hurt on Edsel Ford with a sharp 6-0 win on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Berkley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four contests. Seaholm/Groves' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-9.
