Volleyball Recap: Tabernacle Comes Up Short

After flying high against Valley Fellowship Christian Academy on Thursday, Tabernacle came back down to earth. The Torches took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Evangel Christian Lightning on Friday. The Torches have struggled against the Lightning recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Tabernacle was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 14 points in every single set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-14.

Evangel Christian found their leader in sophomore Erin Campbell, who had nine digs and two assists.

Tabernacle suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 4-6. As for Evangel Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-5-1.

Tabernacle has already played their next match (against Providence Classical), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Evangel Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Tuscaloosa Christian on the 12th.
