Football Game Preview: Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans vs. NFL Yet Academy Eagles

The Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans will head out to challenge the NFL Yet Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 49 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Arizona Lutheran Academy on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 25-6 to the Coyotes. The defeat continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Coyotes: they've now lost four in a row.

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's loss came about despite a quality game from Braxton Whittington, who picked up 109 receiving yards and one touchdown. Whittington showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 55 yards.

Meanwhile, NFL Yet Academy played in-conference for the first time on Friday and got just the result they were looking for. They strolled past Madison Highland Prep with points to spare, taking the game 18-0.

NFL Yet Academy's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-5. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Everything came up roses for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy against NFL Yet Academy in their previous meeting back in September of 2022, as the squad secured a 53-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
