Softball Game Preview: Palisades Pumas vs. Myers Park Mustangs

Palisades is 0-7 against Myers Park since April of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. Palisades will welcome Myers Park at 5:30 p.m. Palisades has given up an average of 8.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Palisades is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Porter Ridge on Friday. They lost 12-2 to the Pirates.

Mariah Rushin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, Myers Park owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They put the hurt on Ballantyne Ridge with a sharp 6-0 victory. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by six runs or more this season.

Not much got past Anna Eason, who gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Ballantyne Ridge off the board. Those 13 strikeouts gave Eason a new career-high.

At the plate, Regan Godman and Ryann Rempson did most of the damage at the plate: Godman went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Rempson went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Sally McDonald, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Myers Park is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. Palisades' defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
