Basketball Recap: Talawanda Comes Up Short

Talawanda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. The game between them and the Franklin County Wildcats didn't end well, with the Talawanda Brave falling 45-29. While losing is never fun, the Brave can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 673rd in Ohio, while the Wildcats are ranked 275th in Indiana).

Franklin County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nick Vanoven out in front who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards. Those nine rebounds gave Vanoven a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brady Foster, who posted nine points.

Talawanda's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Franklin County, their record is now 6-12.

Looking ahead, Talawanda and National Trail will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Franklin County, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against New Castle at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
