With a playoff win on the line, Iola rose to the challenge on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Osawatomie Trojans 2-1. Surprisingly, this marked the Mustangs' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

The win didn't come easy: Osawatomie scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-20, 20-25.

Kashyn Curry was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 22 digs and one assist.

Despite the defeat, Osawatomie saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Avaya O'Brien had 13 digs and one assist.

Iola's victory bumped their record up to 10-25. As for Osawatomie, their loss dropped their record down to 12-22.

Iola does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Osawatomie, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Girard on the 25th.
