Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Sweetwater

Sweetwater waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Midway Green Wave with a sharp 13-4 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.

Lillian Woodruff made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, earning one RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Baylee Bohrer, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Kylee Richeson was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three RBI.

Sweetwater's record now sits at 18-3. As for Midway, they dropped their record down to 2-15 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Sweetwater has already played their next contest, a 21-14 victory against Copper Basin on the 29th. As for Midway, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 11-4 defeat against Rockwood on the 29th.
