Recap: STEM School Highlands Ranch Spartans vs. Nederland Panthers
The STEM School Highlands Ranch Spartans's game on Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against Nederland by a score of 41-31. For STEM School Highlands Ranch, this counts as revenge for the 49-34 defeat Nederland walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
STEM School Highlands Ranch's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Munro, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds. Kaden Morrison was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Nederland's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Rick Fortunato, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds. Fortunato scored a full 35.5% of Nederland's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Gioia, who scored 7 points along with 10 rebounds.
STEM School Highlands Ranch now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Nederland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
STEM School Highlands Ranch will face off against Twin Peaks Charter Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Twin Peaks Charter Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Wednesday. Nederland's road trip will continue as they head out to face Ascent Classical Academy at 9:00 a.m. on December 9th.
