Soccer Game Preview: University Prep vs. Chico

The University Prep Panthers will take on the Chico Panthers in a holiday battle at at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chico took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on University Prep, who comes in off a win.

University Prep's tournament run continued when they took on Lassen on Saturday. University Prep put the hurt on Lassen with a sharp 5-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Chico's offense. They fell just short of Yuba City by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 355th, while the Honkers are ranked 66th).

This is the second loss in a row for Chico and nudges their season record down to 2-4-1. As for University Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
