Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Pearsall's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Pearsall ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Pleasanton Eagles. That's more bragging rights for the Mavericks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Makayla Hernandez, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kirsten Morales, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Pearsall has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-8-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Pleasanton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-9-1.

Pearsall wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 7-4 defeat against Devine on the 28th. As for Pleasanton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-2 loss against Floresville on the 28th.
