Volleyball Recap: Stagg Comes Up Short

Stagg came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Bear Creek Bruins. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Wednesday.

Stagg took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-21, 25-22.

Despite the defeat, Stagg saw an underclassman step up: freshman Evan Sun had ten digs and five kills. Angelo Lagrimas was another key player, getting nine assists and one block.

Stagg has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Bear Creek, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Looking ahead, Stagg will face off against Tokay at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bear Creek, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Kimball on the 4th.
