Basketball Recap: Franklin County Lions vs. Hardaway Hawks
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Franklin County can now relate to. They were dealt an 81-22 defeat at the hands of the Hardaway Hawks on Friday. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-10.
Mikayla Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hardaway, going 6-for-9 from beyond the arc to rack up 30 points. What's more, Johnson also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rhianna Boynton, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards.
Franklin County's loss dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Hardaway, they pushed their record up to 23-6 with the victory, which was their 25th straight at home dating back to last season.
Franklin County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hardaway, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Hawks take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
