Volleyball Recap: Elyria Christian Comes Up Short

Elyria Christian suffered their biggest defeat since September 11th on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Sedgwick Cardinals. Elyria Christian was not able to make up for their loss to Sedgwick from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-13, 25-12.

Player #18 paced Elyria Christian's offense, picking up five kills. Player #18 got some help from Laney Reiff and her 13 assists. Reiff was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Elyria Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Sedgwick, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-6.

Elyria Christian has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Fairfield on the 4th. As for Sedgwick, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Rossville on the 4th.
