Volleyball Recap: Elyria Christian Comes Up Short

Elyria Christian had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 8-14 to make it four. They came up short against the Sedgwick Cardinals, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Elyria Christian has suffered since September 11th.

Player #18 paced Elyria Christian's offense, picking up five kills. Player #18 got some help from Laney Reiff and her 13 assists. Reiff was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

As for Sedgwick, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. The matchup marked their most dominant victory of the season.

Sedgwick's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jennah Wallace, who had seven digs and three aces. That's the most aces Wallace has posted over her last nine contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Briella Steventon, who had 14 digs and one assist.

Elyria Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Fairfield on the 4th. As for Sedgwick, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Rossville on the 4th.
