Baseball Game Preview: Carnegie Wildcats vs. Geary Bison

The Carnegie Wildcats will face off against the Geary Bison at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carnegie will be strutting in after a win while Geary will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Friday, Carnegie made easy work of Cyril and carried off a 13-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won seven matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Abel Resendez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. He has become a key player for Carnegie: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Chizm Kuykendall, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Carnegie always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March.

Meanwhile, Geary was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Southwest Covenant, falling 11-1.

Carnegie now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Geary, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Everything went Carnegie's way against Geary when the teams last played back in March, as Carnegie made off with a 12-1 win. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bison turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
