Baseball Recap: Manti Gets the Win

While Manti's victory against American Leadership Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Templars narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Eagles 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Templars in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Manti saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lane Cox, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Cox is becoming a predictor of the Templars' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-6 when he doesn't). Koy Johnson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Manti now has a winning record of 7-6. As for American Leadership Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Manti wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-4 loss against Emery on the 11th. As for American Leadership Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-0 defeat against Payson on the 14th.
