Football Recap: Archbishop Carroll Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Friendship Collegiate Academy

Archbishop Carroll faced Friendship Collegiate Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Lions received a blow as they fell 30-14 to the Knights. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Archbishop Carroll had strong showings from Tk Davis, who gained 117 total yards and a touchdown, and Mark Butler, who picked up 81 receiving yards and one score. Butler showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 64 yards.

Archbishop Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Archbishop Carroll will square off against Bell at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Friendship Collegiate Academy, they will head out to take on Simon Gratz at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
