Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Snags Fourth Victory in Last Five Games

Roosevelt hasn't had much luck on the road recently (they'd lost six straight) but thanks in part to Jacob Sprangers that streak is no more. The Roosevelt Roughriders blew past the Nathan Hale Raiders 68-47 on Saturday thanks in part to Sprangers, who posted 18 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Despite the loss, Nathan Hale saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Myron Canda had 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for Canda. Jaylen Reuler was another key player, putting up eight points.

Roosevelt is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Nathan Hale, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.

Roosevelt didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 86-71 defeat against Rainier Beach on the 4th.
