Recap: Paxton Bobcats vs. Ponce De Leon Pirates
After a string of four wins, the Paxton Bobcats's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They suffered a rough 43-22 defeat at the hands of Ponce De Leon. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Paxton has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Paxton still got an impressive performance from Alyssa Carson, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Paxton struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Paxton's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Ponce De Leon, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Paxton is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Central at 4:30 p.m. on December 19th. As for Ponce De Leon, they will square off against Malone at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Malone will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 436th, while Ponce De Leon is ranked 45th).
