Basketball Game Preview: Central Rockets vs. Stranahan Mighty Dragons

The Central Rockets will challenge the Stranahan Mighty Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matches.

Central is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Reagan with a sharp 61-40 victory. The Rockets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Keri Foster led the charge by going 6-for-10 en route to 15 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. The contest was Foster's sixth in a row with at least 15 points. Justin Suarez was another key player, going 6-for-14 on his way to 15 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Stranahan entered their tilt with Barron Collier on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 48-44 W against the Cougars. Given the Mighty Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Cougars are ranked 128th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Stranahan's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points over those games. As for Central, their victory bumped their record up to 17-8.
