Football Recap: Laurel Takes a Loss

Laurel extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They fell 14-6 to the Brookhaven Panthers. The Golden Tornadoes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

As for Brookhaven, their record now sits at 4-2. Those 14 points were actually the fewest they have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

The critical scores for Brookhaven came from Zacarias Richardson and Dreamus Harron.

Laurel has already played their next matchup, a 17-12 win against Natchez on the 17th. As for Brookhaven, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 21-9 victory against Sumrall on the 17th.
