Basketball Game Preview: Cypress Ridge Rams vs. Memorial Mustangs

Cypress Ridge is 1-9 against Memorial since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Cypress Ridge Rams will take on the Memorial Mustangs at 12:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Cypress Ridge is headed into Saturday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Wednesday. They fell 37-30 to Cy-Fair.

Meanwhile, Memorial scored the most points they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Cypress Falls by a score of 69-66. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the Eagles are ranked 92nd).

Memorial's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-14. As for Cypress Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 5-19.

Cypress Ridge was dealt a bruising 48-17 defeat at the hands of Memorial when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Cypress Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
