Pennsylvania high school football rankings: No. 2 Pine-Richland makes statement against No. 14 Upper St. Clair

Three Top 10 teams faced ranked opponents in the Keystone State as No. 2 Pine-Richland, No. 3 Peters Township and No. 9 La Salle were each tested.

Week two of high school football in the Keystone State featured three meetings of ranked teams as No. 2 Pine-Richland (Gibsonia) took down No. 14 Upper St. Clair (Upper St. Clair) 34-13, No. 3 Peters Township (McMurray) knocked off No. 16 Penn-Trafford (Harrison City) 24-21 and No. 9 La Salle College (Wyndmoor) defeated No. 21 Manheim Central (Manheim) 35-27.

Second-ranked Pine-Richland were again led by an incredible performance from senior quarterback Cole Spencer (21 of 37, 271 yards, 3 touchdowns) in their convincing win over the Panthers.

No. 20 Bedford was the biggest riser in this week's rankings, jumping up 28 spots after their 27-20 victory over previous No. 14 Richland (Johnstown) – who dropped out of the state's Top 25 rankings.

Along with previous No. 14 Richland, previous No. 16 Mt. Lebanon (Pittsburgh) also dropped out of the rankings after a 24-17 loss to Canon-McMillan (Canonsburg).
