Softball Recap: Clovis North Gets the Win

Clovis North's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Frontier Titans, sneaking past 7-5. The Broncos have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Titans, too.

Aubrey Zandejas was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Zoey Thomas, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Clovis North was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Clovis North's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Frontier, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-3 record.

Looking ahead, Clovis North will venture away from home to face off against Madera at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Frontier, they will face off against Hanford West at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Frontier's pitchers better be ready for this one: Hanford West has averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
