Baseball Recap: Thomasville Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Thomasville can now relate to. They fell 5-2 to the Mountain Island Charter Raptors on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Matthew Bankhead was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run over 7.2 innings pitched. Bankhead was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Bankhead wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Travail Barnes, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Thomasville's defeat dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Mountain Island Charter, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-13 record this season.

Thomasville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mountain Island Charter, they will take on Hayesville on Friday.
