Recap: Tavares Bulldogs vs. East Ridge Knights
The Tavares Bulldogs suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Tuesday. They suffered a rough 53-28 defeat at the hands of East Ridge. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Tavares has suffered against East Ridge since January 27, 2020.
East Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Neishaliz De Jesus, who scored ten points along with four steals. De Jesus continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Hunt, who scored 12 points.
Tavares has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for East Ridge, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tavares will take on Umatilla at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Umatilla presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tavares in Florida (Umatilla is ranked 162nd, while Tavares is ranked 473rd). As for East Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Hope Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
