Navarro is 9-1 against Gonzales since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Panthers will host the Apaches at 6:15 p.m.

Navarro is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since August 11th on Tuesday. They came up short against La Vernia, falling 3-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Panthers haven't been shut out since back in August.

While Navarro was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into La Vernia's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-15, 25-18.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Gonzales, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They blew past John F. Kennedy 3-0 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Apaches in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now won seven in a row.

Gonzales not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept John F. Kennedy between 17 and 20 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-17, 25-20.

Gonzales' win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-19. As for Navarro, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 15-16.
