Cooper led 5A District 5 in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on Grant County. Torrey Cordell-Armstrong ran for 153 yards and caught 2 passes for 23 yards during the win.
Conner made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,907 from 2,117. The advance stemmed from a 32-20 victory over Scott last week.
The Jaguars' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. WILLIAM LUDWIG threw for 128 yards and AARON MORGAN had 46 yards receiving. On the ground Cordell-Armstrong chipped in 153 yards. RICHIE PAULS helped Cooper's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 37 yards.
AVERY BRICKING was a key player and the best on defense this week as Cooper defeated the Braves. He grabbed 1 interception and recorded 1 fumble.
Cordell-Armstrong provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Randy Borchers' team bested Grant County. Cordell-Armstrong's key target this week was MORGAN, who caught 2 passes for 46 yards.
LUDWIG put up the best numbers in passing as the Jaguars defeated Kevin Siple's team.
Cooper's LUDWIG and COREY FUSSINGER have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. LUDWIG has thrown for 1,881 yards this season, while FUSSINGER has 50 catches for 699 yards. Josh Castleman from the Eagles leads the league in rushing with 717 yards.
Going into this week's game against Dixie Heights, the Jaguars' LUDWIG needs 119 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
